Surfaces of Revolution

Rotating a curve around an axis produces a surface of revolution, which has rotational symmetry around that axis. Here are some example surfaces of revolution; the white plane curves at left, when rotated about the green axes, generate the surfaces at right.

This Cartesian oval (with p ~ 1.61)... yields this ovoid egg shape.
